The great Messianic Prophet Isaiah wrote about the birth of Jesus Christ the Messiah 680 years before he was born. But Isaiah wasn't the only one. Many other prophets, patriarchs, and even kings wrote about the Savior's lineage, birth, life, ministry, and death. If one would make an exhaustive search of the scriptures, one would find well over 300 individual prophecies. I'm not about to do an exhaustive search at 5:00 AM, but I would like to share just a few to make a point: Jesus Christ did not begin his existence in Bethlehem. He was existent before the world was. He was the creator, the great Jehovah. His mission is eternal and his atonement, infinite. Without Gethsemane and Calvary, there would be no need to remember Bethlehem.
I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, Numbers 24:17
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14
But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. Micah 5:2
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. Jeremiah 23:5
